Red Devils claim two wins in sweep over Muncie Central

Richmond took care of business on Tuesday night in a rare weeknight doubleheader. The Red Devils got it done easily only allowing one run in both games combined.

GAME 1:

Hayden Scalf had all the right stuff on Tuesday for Richmond Richmond Red Devils Varsity, allowing zero runs and besting Muncie Central by a score of 21-0

Scalf led Richmond Richmond Red Devils Varsity to victory by driving in six runs. Scalf went 3-for-4 at the plate. Scalf drove in runs on a stolen base in the first, a double in the second, a double in the third, and a walk in the third.

Richmond Richmond Red Devils Varsity opened up scoring in the first inning, when Richmond Richmond Red Devils Varsity scored on a stolen base during Scalf‘s at bat. Then Scalf singled , driving in one.

Grady led Muncie Central with one hit in two at bats.

Richmond Richmond Red Devils Varsity blew out Muncie Central 13-1 on Wednesday.

Casey Blevins earned the win for Richmond Richmond Red Devils Varsity. The righty went five innings, allowing one run on two hits, striking out 11 and walking zero.

Durbin took the loss for Muncie Central. The pitcher surrendered ten runs on eight hits over three innings, striking out four.

Richmond Richmond Red Devils Varsity racked up 12 hits on the day. Jason IsomNick Whalen, and Blevins each managed multiple hits for Richmond Richmond Red Devils VarsityWhalen and Isom each collected three hits to lead Richmond Richmond Red Devils VarsityRichmond Richmond Red Devils Varsity was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Evan Williams made the most plays with 11.

Muncie Central was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. French had the most chances in the field with five.
