Northeastern’s Heather Crull takes first at IHSGW South Regional, attention turned to this State Finals on January 14

Northeastern’s Heather Crull continued her great freshman season on the Knights Wrestling team. Wrestling in the 106 weight class Crull has became a heavy favorite for a TEC Crown and Sectional Championship.

Heather went to work over the past weekend at the IHSGW Regional South where she was on the mat for just above 2 minutes. Now don’t let that fool you as Crull took care of business in 3 matches going 3-0 with 3 falls. Crull defeated her first opponent Kylie Smith-Foster from Greenfield Central in 35 seconds. Crull then took on South Dearborn’s Kaitlyn Fischer and defeated her in 1:26. Crull then quickly took the Regional Championship pinning Emily Anderson in just 6 seconds.

Crull gets a a bye in the first round of the State Finals and will take on the winner of Genesis Ramirez (ELK)/AnnaMae Mosconi (SOPT).

State Finals are on January 14th at Kokomo Memorial Gymnasium!
