In the first game of the day, Seton Varsity opened up against the host team Franklin County. The Cardinals fell behind early and trailed 41-25 at halftime. Seton was able to battle back to bring it to within 10, but ended up losing 66-50. The Cardinals were led by Mason Harvey with 14 points and fellow Sophomore Braiden Hogg with 12. Dorian Hill had a nice game with 8 points and 6 assists. Tristian Washington added 7 points and Elijah Falcone had 6 points and 4 rebounds. Andrew Warner rounded out the box score with 3 points.
Seton Catholic bounced back in a big way in their 2nd game of the day against a tough Triton Central team. The Cardinals trailed early but were able to take a 2 point lead at halftime. After trailing by 6 points heading into the final frame, Seton was able to play great team defense to bring the game within striking distance behind some timely buckets. Down by one with just seconds to play, Sophomore Andrew Warner drove baseline and scored a layup to give the Cardinals a 51-50 lead. Triton Central was unable to get a shot off after calling timeout with 3 seconds remaining and Seton hung on for the win.
Seton was led by Mason Harvey who had a double-double with 22 points 10 rebounds and 5 blocks. Sophomore Braiden Hogg took over the game in stretches scoring 19 points with 3 assists. Dorian Hill hit a couple of huge three pointers in the second half and finished with 6 points 4 rebounds 6 assists and 4 steals. Andrew Warner finished the game with 4 points. Mason Harvey was named to the All-Tournament Team.
The Cardinals move to 8-3 on the season as they break for the Holiday’s and prepare for the Bob Wettig Memorial Tournament at Richmond on December 28th & 29th where they’ll open with Greensburg at 9am and Miami Valley Homeschool at 5pm.
