Centerville made school history on Friday night in their last regular season home game versus Knightstown. The Bulldogs were just one win shy of not only becoming back-to-back Tri-Eastern Conference Champs, but one win away from a perfect regular season. This has never been done in Centerville history, which is crazy to believe considering all the years of Bulldog Football dominance. Centerville got the job done in front of the home crowd rolling past Knightstown in a 46-0 blow out win. Although there is a small asterisk by the 8-0 record. The Bulldogs have now completed the first perfect season in school history. Centerville also won the Tri-Eastern Conference Championship for a second straight year. This is the 12th TEC Crown for the Bulldogs. Centerville has also not lost a home regular season football game since October 18th, 2019. Centerville will look to keep that unbeaten streak alive next season in 2022.
Centerville’s Defense and Special Teams showed out tonight in the victory as the Bulldogs defense forced two Panther Safeties and the special teams scored on a 70 yard free kick return for a touchdown by Javontae Pamplin. The Bulldog defense did not allow many positive yardage plays for the Panthers. Forcing many turnover on downs and completely shutting the Panthers down. The Bulldog defense also added another shutout to their resume as they continue their reign of dominance.
The Bulldogs ran wild on offense as four different Bulldogs rushed in a touchdown. Senior Devin Frazier added to his total on the year adding his 7th rushing touchdown of the season (17 yard touchdown run). Jake Tinkle continued to add to his impressive Sophomore campaign as he ran in a touchdown from 3 yards out. Jake’s 2021 Season resume includes: over 550 passing yards, 13 passing touchdowns with just 1 interception, over 130 rushing yards and 4 rushing touchdowns. Jamari Pamplin continues his excellence rushing the football, as he continues to add to his record setting rushing yard total. His historic career continues as Jamari rushed another touchdown in tonight for his 19th rushing touchdown of the season (11 yard touchdown run). Jamari is also well north of 1,100 rushing yards on the season. Senior Peyton Heaston got his name busy in the stat department as he had two rushing touchdowns on the day (20 yard & 13 yard touchdown runs). Those touchdowns were Peyton’s first touchdowns of the 2021 season.
