Lady Red Devils win Richmond Golf Sectional

The Richmond High School Girls Golf team wins Sectionals for the 4th time in a row today! The Lady Devils were lead as usual by RHS’s number 1 golfer Esther Etherington who’s score of 80 earned her 2nd place Medalist honors. Their team score of 340 was also propped up by a very crispy 83 by Sophomore Isabella Roll who made the turn with a 37. Sophomore Lauren Freeman’s 88 was the 3rd score used and Junior Zoe Brock’s 89 was the 4th score. Senior Macky Laughlin’s 97 rounded out the team scores. RHS was the only team in the field to have all 5 scores under 100 for the event.

Coach Brent commented afterwards on how well the Lady Devils stuck to their routine throughout the long hot day at the Richmond Elks. The other two teams to advance to Regionals were 2nd place Franklin County (355) and 3rd place Union County (368). Regionals will be next Saturday at The Edge Course in Lapel.

The celebration continues tonight as this is also Senior Night for our 4 Seniors, Molly Mendenhall, Macky Laughlin, Landrea Arnold, and Esther Etherington. Emotions will run high as Molly, Esther, & Mac have worked with Coach since their Middle golf days.

Nice work Ladies on again bringing more hardware to the Tiernan Center!
