Centerville announced on Wednesday that they have hired former Morristown Yellow Jackets Junior Varsity Boy’s Basketball Head Coach Kodi Smith.

Coach Kodi Smith is familiar with the Wayne County area as he grew up in Connersville, Indiana. Kodi graduated from Connersville in 2011. Kodi also coached Connersville’s Junior Varsity Basketball team for a brief stint before his journey to Morristown.

Coach Smith is leaving the Yellow Jackets after just one season, as he is now getting his first Varsity job. Kodi said on Twitter “That being a varsity basketball coach in Indiana has been a dream ever since he was in elementary school. He is very thankful and honored to be getting the nod with Centerville”.

Kodi, has well over 10 years of coaching experience and working day in and day out in the gym. He will be loooking to change the motto of Centerville Basketball. Centerville is coming off of a 8-14 season, which was Centerville’s best year since the 2017-2018 campaign. The Bulldogs have not had a .500 season since the 2016-2017 season under coach Seve Beach.

We look forward to working with Coach Smith and the Bulldogs Boy’s Basketball team this season. We wish them both the best this off-season as we prepare for the new season.
