Aly Blake & Chloe Goodman lead Lady Bulldogs to victory

Centerville Girls Volleyball team traveled to Blue River on Tuesday night for a non-conference matchup.

This was a big varsity contest for both teams, as both sides were looking to get back on track in the win column. The Lady Vikings & Lady Bulldogs have faced a lot of adversity here in the early part of the season due to injuries and Covid-19.

Centerville came ready to play as the focal point of the last few practices and team discussions was closing out matches. After taking set one in rather dominant fashion 25-16, the Lady Bulldogs did just that in sets two and three where the matches were tight. The Lady Vikings gave it their all but the Lady Bulldogs took set two 25-23 and set three 25-22.

Centerville was led by Senior Aly Blake and Freshman Chloe Goodman. Aly finished with 9 kills and 11 digs, while Chloe had 3 aces, 8 kills, and 12 digs. Centerville’s Ava McCurdy also had a solid performance with 7 kills, and Lilly Waters tallying up the assists with 25.

Lady Bulldogs now 3-4 on the year riding a two game winning streak, will look to continue their success this weekend when they travel to Rushville for an Invitational.
