Hagerstown hosted Tri-Eastern Conference opponent Knightstown Friday night. What started out as tough physical first half, ended up in a beating from the hungry Tigers. Hagerstown went into halftime leading 6-0. The Tigers came out strong in the second half outscoring the Panthers 39-6. Mason Romack carried the load for the Tigers as he rushed for 164 yards on 13 carries with 3 rushing touchdowns. Quarterback Kayne Ervin had an impressive performance as he went 7 for 12 with 100 yards and 1 touchdown. Ervin also carried the football 15 times for 55 yards. Aiden Grover also had a breakout performance rushing the football as he ran for 80 yards on 13 carries and 2 touchdowns. Colin Beaty also had a rushing touchdown and Lowell Berger had a touchdown reception.
Hagerstown’s offense finished with 320 yards of rushing and 100 passing yards. Tigers scored a total of 7 touchdowns (6 rushing/1 passing). Tigers only had one turnover as well. The defense came to play as well as they had 3 sacks, 7 tackles for loss, 3 interceptions, and 1 blocked punt.
Hagerstown now moves to 1-0 on the season as they will take on Centerville (1-0) next week at home. Kickoff is set for 7pm!
