The Northeastern Knights picked up their first win of the season with a 17-6, four and half inning game at home against Muncie Burris on Tuesday.
The Owls of Burris scored four runs in the 1st inning and 2 in the 2nd inning. The Knights scored 7 runs in the 1st inning, 3 in the 2nd, 1 in the 3rd and 6 in the 4th inning. The Knights had 13 hits on the night along with 4 base on balls and 1 hit batter. The offense was led by Carson Terrell with 3 hits followed by Keaton Mikesell, Micah Mann, Ben Deitsch and Trevor Burkhart with 2 hits each.
The pitching was handled by Landon Sum who picked up starter Carson Terrell. Sum pitched 4 1/3 innings with 8 strikeouts and 2 base on balls to pick up the victory.
The Knights are scheduled to return to action on Friday at Muncie Central. They host Seton Catholic on Saturday at 10:00 am for doubleheader.
