The Centerville Bulldogs basketball team hosted the Indiana School of the Deaf on Wednesday night in a non-conference matchup.
Centerville came into this matchup riding a three game win-streak, and senior Austin Farlow being one bucket shy of scoring his 1,000th point.
The Bulldogs came out shooting, trying to get the ball in Farlow’s hands early. After Farlow missed his first shot from the floor, he regained focused and netted his next three surpassing the 1,000th career point milestone. Centerville continued to capitalize with their great ball movement sparking a 17-2 run to start the game. The Bulldogs closed out the first quarter leading 23-7. Bulldogs dominated the second quarter going on a 12-2 run going into the break. Centerville’s offense took care of the basketball leading to more shots on the offensive side of things not letting the game get up and down. The Bulldogs defense also came out strong forcing many turnovers, not allowing second chance points, and forcing the Orioles to take tough shots. The Orioles came out strong to start the second half as they had a run of their own outscoring the Bulldogs 14-6 in the third quarter. The Bulldog’s defense clicked back together in the 4th quarter only allowing 2 points, as they ran away with the victory 53-25.
Centerville was led by Keegan Schlotterbeck’s 18 points. Austin Farlow finished with 14 points as well for the Bulldogs. Other contributors include Gage Lecklider with 9 points, Mason Cunningham with 8 points, Collin Clark with 2 points, Evan Dickenson with 1 point, and Jacob Fordonski with 1 point.
