Northeastern and Winchester went head to head in the biggest TEC game of the year. The game lived up to the hype as both teams went back and forth all game long.
Northeastern and Winchester battled it out all game long, as neither team could grab a substantial lead. As one would think these two powerhouses would go to the very final whistle and that it sure did. After clutch free-throws down the stretch by the Knights, the Golden Falcons had a chance to tie with just under 8 seconds to play but could not get the shot to fall.
Northeastern escaped with a narrow win 67-64 giving them the Tri-Eastern Conference crown back, and giving Coach Ross is 200th career win.
Northeastern was led by Kolden Vanlandingham who finished with 25 points and 6 steals. Kolden’s offensive and defensive performance was an absolute gem for the Knights. Also scoring for the Knights was: Carter Lumpkin with 12 points, Raedhyn Foust with 11 points, Payton Lumpkin with 5 points, Garrett Tudor with 3 points, and Ben Deitsch with 1 point.
Northeastern now moves to 17-3 on the year and will shift their attention to Sunday’s Sectional Draw, before taking on Connersville on Tuesday night. That game can be seen here on MyTeamLive.
Winchester will move to 15-6 on the season, and will also turn their attention to Sunday, before taking on Jay County on Tuesday night. That game as well can be seen here on MyTeamLive.
REPLAY OF TONIGHT’S GAME WILL BE UPLOADED BY SUNDAY!
