Varsity Action:
The Northeastern Lady Knights picked up a third straight win on Saturday traveling across the state line and defeating Mississinawa Valley with a score of 67-43.
The Lady Knights played a strong first half going into halftime with a 29 point lead. The bench was then put in during the middle of the third quarter and again with 4 minutes left to go in the 4th. At this point, the opponent produced a full court press that had not been seen the entire game.
Leading for the Lady Knights were Jenna McFarland with 17 points, Taylor Farris with 11 points, Emma Wright with 9 points, Addisen Mastriano with 8 points, Willow Runyon with 7 points, Kelsey Cottongim with 5 points, Madi Austerman with 4 points, and Kenzie Chasteen and Maddie Fields with 3 points each.
The 3-0 Lady Knights play at home Tuesday, November 24th versus Delta. JV tip at 6pm, Varsity to follow.
Junior Varsity Action:
The girls JV basketball team moved to 3-0 while they crossed state lines and defeated Mississinawa Valley with a score of 34-30. The game was very physical from start to finish but the Knights stayed strong until the end.
The Lady Knights were led in scoring by Juztice Slick with 8 points, Nevaeh Chapman with 6, Kate Benjamin, Maddie Fields, and Madi Austerman all with 4 points each. Kamryn McFarland and Zoe Cline were busy on the boards grabbing 7 rebounds each.
The Lady Knights are back in action Tuesday at home versus Delta.
