Southridge Quarterback Chase Taylor put in a performance of a lifetime Friday night. Son of local football stud Brian Taylor, who played at Centerville, and Earlham. He is off to a huge senior campaign for the Raiders picking up right where he left off last season.
The two sport athlete has had three straight solid games now for this Raiders team, leading them to their 3-0 start. Southridge defeated North Posey 55-21 on Friday night where senior Chase Taylor had a monster game!
Chase Taylor on Friday accounted for SEVEN of the Raiders eight touchdowns. He had a monster game on the ground and in the air. On the ground Taylor rushed 27 times for 216 yards and 4 touchdowns, and in the air Taylor went 9-15 with 147 yards and 3 touchdowns. This senior is taking the every Friday is a new season to heart.
As we have only completed 3 weeks so far on this young season, Taylor has already passed his last season totals in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns. Taylor looks to be on his way to his best year yet, and possible some school single season records.
On the season, Taylor has already thrown for 181 yards and 3 touchdowns, but Taylor is one to truly get it done with his legs. He has 339 rushing yards with 7 touchdowns already this season. Taylor is averaging six yards per carry. This dual wield quarterback would be any teams dream come true.
Taylor career wise has truly taken off these last two seasons. He is just shy of throwing for 1,000 yards at 9 games at quarterback, and has 14 touchdowns. He has an impressive quarterback rating of 94.0 as well. Taylor has used his legs a lot as well as he has rushed for 11 career touchdowns!
Fully expect to hear Chase Taylor’s name mentioned more not only as Southridge Football is off to a great year, but this kid has game and lot of heart!
